Likes on Facebook pages don’t necessarily mean something.

One of the first things Steven insists on is this: likes aren’t that important. The most crucial factor on Facebook is engagement.

How can you determine engagement? Look for ‘Likes’ on your page (you might find it by clicking”More”) in the header. There are two numbers of people talking about this (PTAT) and the number of Likes.

The formula for engagement on Facebook is PTAT/Number of Likes multiplied by 100. Are you unable to calculate the formula? Don’t worry. Steven Aitchison has created a helpful tool to measure Facebook Page engagement.

You can observe my Facebook Page’s engagement rate at the time of writing is above 600 percent. A majority of Facebook Pages have engagement rates of less than 10 percent. Even though they have more than 9 million Likes, less than 40,000 people are discussing this, with their Engagement Rate lower than one percent.

According to a study conducted according to a study by Microsoft, the average attention span of humans is now lower than that of goldfish, which is 8 seconds! People are scrolling through their news feeds on their phones with increasing speed. It takes only a few seconds to catch their focus. This is why an image with a positive message that resonates with viewers has a higher chance of getting a Like than anything else.
